Wyoming Youth Challenge – C5 New England

I just spent two weeks working in Wyoming with a Massachusetts based youth leadership program called C5 New England. The five year program works with inner city youth guiding them toward leadership competence and community engagement. Every year the third year teens participate in an eight day hiking trip through the Big Horn Mountains. The experience is no small matter and is meant to challenge the teens in a new and stressful environment. The end result is hard to express in words or pictures. These teens leave this experience with a whole new perpective that will, no doubt, influence them for the rest of their lives.

Outtakes from Senegal

After spending the year studying in France, I decided to head to West Africa for a couple of weeks to work on a personal project about some very inspiring young people in Senegal. You can see the whole project here on my portfolio site, but I wanted to share a few additional images that were not apart of the final edit.

Some of the young journalists that I featured in my project interviewed me before I left. I’ve posted the interview below for anyone who can bare my poorly spoken French.

Jamaica Bay Cover Story

This is a little late, but I wanted to share the final outcome of a metropolitan story about Jamaica Bay in New York that I photographed. I had to revisited the story quite a few times to get the right image, but I was very excited to see how it turned out in the end.
